Go home Roger!!

The National Football League has now taken a nose dive backwards on the National Anthem stance. A short time ago Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner to what appeared to be a stand againt Donald Trump when Trump spoke out saying “Owners should Fire Players if they don’t stand.” Goodell seemed to back players, saying Trump’s comments were “divisive” and “demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL.” Now just this week he issued another statement and it is very luke warm. Goodell started by saying “We live in a country that can feel very divided.” This is a shame he putt in “FEEL” very divided. This is the portion of White Privilege that is very Trifling because how in God’s green earth can this country “Feel” divided when clear stats show us Polic Brutality, The discrimination in the schools, and the high rate of Prison inmates being Black. Not to mention the constant reports being done that continues to highlight Racism. So for Goodell to talking about FEELING is a disgrace and it is disrespectful. Goodell only placed that memo because he is more concerned with the sponsors, yet how easily they forget, without the PLAYERS the owners don’t get paid and neither does the Commissioner.  There was a time when Players did NOT have to leave the locker room for the Anthem and it wasn’t until the NFL was paid 5.9Million that they decided to have players stand. See White Supremacy is all about Money and Power. So we have to consider Jerry Jones may have called Roger Goodell and gave him an earful. Let us also remember Jerry Jones, the one who is so patriotic was and have always been an owner of the Dallas Cowboys, his teams also stood in the locker room during the national anthem and the Cowboys are supposed to be AMERICA’S team!

So the NFL is in for a battle on this one. It has always been yelled, “When are Black people going to come together?” Now we are doing it and now The White Supremacist are say “no not like that!” I am convinced and have been convinced for several years about Racism existing. I call you my readers to be clear within your life because within this world you have to be aware of Racism it seeps through that “Flag.”

In addition, the kneeling was not even about the Flag in the first place and the Kneeling was a suggestion from the Army Ranger that had a meeting with Colin last year. So live in Truth.

There are often many things within in our lives that we deal with that bring about a certain level of shame or embarrassment. For instance, have you ever been sitting at a red light minding your own business with your finger knuckles deep in your nose and you look over and the driver next to you is literally staring at you, embarrassed much? Or have you ever been in class taking a test and the teacher catches you red handed staring a hole in your neighbor’s paper because you didn’t have a clue what the answers were? Sure, we all have experienced one of these things before, if not both. These things may bring about a level of shame or embarrassment but more than likely you could tell your friends about it and you guys would have a great laugh. On the other hand, there are things that bring about shame or embarrassment that we wouldn’t dare discuss with anyone. Maybe your father is someone that you have never met before and could possibly be your next door neighbor but you wouldn’t know it because you have literally never seen his face before. Maybe you’re 15 years old and have 3 younger siblings who you have to take care of yourself because your mother is too busy and concern with her “man” who has no consideration for you or your siblings. These things we do not dare speak about to anyone; in fact, we hold them in until the point that we drive ourselves insane. On the outside, we seem fine but we are literally dying on the inside. These mental issues are just a few of the things that we within the African American community are dealing with on a daily. And it is these things that we must begin to discuss.

Mental health within our community is something that is taboo or looked at like something that you do not discuss with others. We have been brought up to think that if one is seeking out the help of a mental health professional that one is “crazy” or “weak”, this is such a ridiculous way of thinking. This idea that you must be “crazy or weak” to be going to see a mental health professional is killing our community and it must come to an end immediately.

Life is hard no matter what background one comes from but especially if one is coming from our community. We can argue all day about what the root cause of our condition is but that is for another day (don’t get me started, lol). Today we must begin to focus on ourselves and begin to become our own saviors, instead of blaming others for our problems and expected them to get us out of them. This begins with us talking, and not to those around us who are dealing with the same issues that we are, this will gets us nowhere. It’s no secret the problems that we are dealing with in our communities, lack of education, which leads to low paying jobs, which leads to poverty, which turns into hopelessness. This hopelessness turns into us giving up and turning to things that make us “feel good”, like sex, drugs, and alcohol. We turn to these things because they are all escapes, from the real things that we are going through that we desperately don’t want others to know about.

Try this story on for size.

Here we have a 15-year-old African American girl whose father is incarcerated and she hasn’t seen since she was 3 years old. Her mother is too busy for her because she is too caught up in living her “own life”. She had her daughter when she was 15 and feels she never had an opportunity to live “her” life. So, the girl turns to a young man who may be dealing with similar issues so they confide in each other emotionally but because they are too young to understand these emotions they believe that they are in love and began to have sex. Well, she becomes pregnant, she drops out of school in order to take care of the child that is inevitably on the way. The young man who is just as much responsible for the pregnancy as she is disappears literally because he has never had a father around so he has no clue of how to be one himself. The girl has the child who is a beautiful little baby boy but being a teenage mother she is barely making it. She is on her own and has little to no education. So what does she do, turn to drugs and alcohol to ease the pain that she is feeling of not being able to adequately provide for her son, that she so deeply loves. Now, here we have a young man whose father has never been around and mother couldn’t cope with the pain of being alone, so he, in turn, is also alone. It is this loneliness that kills. How does this kill exactly you might ask? Well, the young boy because of his loneliness turns to some “friends’ who are involved in selling drugs, they show him and “love” so he begins to sell drugs too. Then the young man meets a girl who he eventually gets pregnant and the day the baby is born the young man is gunned down in the streets due to a drug deal went bad and the cycle continues.

This story could have had a different outcome. If in the beginning that 15-year-old girl would have sought out the help of a mental health professional to talk to instead of the young man. This story could have turned out totally different. If that young lady seeks out the guidance of a mental health professional who specializes in these sorts of cases she could have begun to heal that pain and loneliness that she was feeling. Instead of getting pregnant and dropping out of school she could have gained control of her thoughts and feelings. She could have eventually graduated from high school and enter into college or into the workforce. Once she had gained control of her mental health she would be able to choose a young man for herself who is responsible and in the same good place mentally that she is in. They could acquire gainful employment, get married and begin to have children together, cycle ended.

It is impossible for us to deal with these sorts of issues alone; the only outcome of doing so will be a negative one. The story may not end in such a manner as I just previously described but we all know stories that have ended this way. As a matter of fact, the story very well could be our story, if so it’s never too late to seek the counsel of a mental health professional. Why is it that the African American community has such an issue with seeking this professional help that I speak of? There are many different answers to this question but my answer is, often times the professional that we seek out doesn’t look like us, therefore, we don’t trust them. This is very understandable. We are most comfortable with those who are like us this is just a fact of life. Well, there are those who look like us out there to help. It is up to us within the mental health profession to make ourselves available and become a staple of the community. Our minds are the only thing that can raise us up from the condition that we are in. We must begin to lift this idea that speaking about our problems to mental health professionals makes us “weak” or “crazy”. As long as we have this mentally towards mental health, I hate to say it but we will continue to remain in the state of mind that we have been in for WAY too long.

If you find yourself in a place where you feel that you are all alone with dealing with the issues of life and things are beginning to become too stressful for you to handle. “Mind Health” in the African American community!!!

Everything we do we think in our minds first. There is no action that takes place that the mind does not first give thought to. Our minds are the driving force directing us toward our future. Before I sat down to type this post I first wrote it down but before that I thought about it and now here you are reading it. Reading what was once in my mind and is now a reality. This is how EVERYTHING was and is created.

Our mind is the most powerful thing that we as human beings have. In fact our mind is the most powerful thing on planet earth today. Literally everything you are seeing with your eyes right now was once a thought in some human being’s mind first. Gain control over your mind and take control of your life. So if this is so why is it that we pay so little attention to our Mental Health or “Mind Health” as I like to call it. When I speak of “we” I am speaking to the African American community, my community.

The word “mental” simply means “mind” so from here on let’s call it “Mind Health”. When one is sick with an ailment of the body that person goes to see a physician or a doctor as we call them in order to see what the problem is within their body. If this person goes long enough without seeing a doctor for their ailment the condition could worsen and become a bigger problem than it initially was. If this is the case when one becomes physically ill, what makes us believe that this same criterion is not to be applied with our “Mind Health”.

We must begin to be honest and start to admit to ourselves that yes life does get difficult sometimes and that we are not as strong as we tend to put on. Once we admit this to ourselves then we can begin the process of “Mind Healing”. One myth that hangs around our community is that the “pastor” can fix it I’ll just go talk to him. Now don’t get me wrong I understand this line of thinking, in fact have acted out on it myself. What I had to realize and what we must all come to realize is that God has equipped people in the world to help us specifically with our “Mind Health” and those are the people we should seek when dealing with life and all the problems that it brings.

The African American community, my community must put an end to this stigma that we have placed on “Mind Health”. It is literally killing us and continuing the poverty and mis-education we see within our communities. We are literally “trapped” by our own minds which in turn produces a lack of vision which is what is keeping us in continuing poverty and mis-education.

For example, it is this poverty that keeps us from being able to pay our bills on time which brings anxiety, it is this anxiety of not being able to pay our bills on time that brings about a depression and it is this state of being depressed that brings about suicidal thoughts all things that plaque our communities in high numbers.

All these things are things that “ALL” take root in our Mind. We MUST lift up our mind and our condition will soon follow, for it is this and only this that will bring about the change that I know we so all desperately want to see.

How do you interact with the “Law”?

Many of us believe we know the law and can talk our way out of situations involving the Police. This is a direct challenge to us all because many of us are acting without wisdom. Wisdom would tell us only speak when spoke to and be direct without much long windedness. Now let me point out the elephant in the room, this still would not deter from being killed, which is a harsh truth; however, it does begin to built confidence within us when we meet foolishness and flithy with wisdom and righteous. The 5th Amendment tells us plain and clear, “You have the right to remain silent ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN AND WILL be used against you in the court of law.” That is powerful because if we rest on those words we will start to see that we are set up to fail. Who are the “we”? Those who opposition of the police and law. Yes, we can go into the shoulds and the coulds; however, I deal with Truth and Wisdom. I’ve been in several situations where I have been pressured to share information that I did not need to share and there was a benefit and not a benefit. This is a thin line because we understand, well many of us , that there is a connection between the officers, the courts and the prison. That is part of the reason why it has been such a hard struggle to convict many more cops for illegal use of force and the terrorism because you open the door and call one aspect corrupt them that will cycle back on the others and then America would have another issue to address. We must start to get online and with our Library’s and read your states Code of Law for Policing because each state can be different. We must start to watch over the police interactions, those of us who believe we are overseers. We must hold expungement fairs annually within our communities in order to remove those charges that the courts should have removed. We must organize a call line when one of our brothers or sisters are engaged with Police. We must teach interaction techniques such as always get the officers badge number and name, pull over in lighted areas. This is not fool proof; however, it will build up a community for us to properly engage.

Side Chick Vs. Sister Wife Part 2

Many, if not all relationships, come with the good, bad, and ugly!! But, because of all the members present in one family, Polygamist relationships sometimes come with more bad than good, and these pros and cons of Polygamy goes as follows:

For one, it gives people freedom of choice. Women will still be able to choose their partners and not be forced into such kind of relationship. Also, it offers the husband respect and admiration. Men who are into Polygamous unions usually have more than enough income to support his families. This means they will have economic stability and a good reputation in the community. This also means the wives can work on their schooling, gain a career of their own, as well as spend more time with the kids, if kids are in the picture. You are provided a better support system within polygamous families because you will have more members. You’ll always have a shoulder to cry on and someone you can relate to.

The sisterhood between wives is the most beautiful when the women truly love for the sake of each other and are on the same accord! Most importantly, it prevents adultery, because there is no extra-marital affair to hide from your partner. This reduces adultery to a non-issue and prevents the temptation of cheating on your spouse…usually! Some men we know are just greedy, especially when there’s a woman HE wants, but doesn’t want to participate in polygamy, OR the wives don’t agree upon it. It happens…

For every action, there is a reaction, and when you have heaven, you also have hell! Here are a few CONS of Polygamy. Firstly, it can be the cause for abuse of power. Usually, in any household, the man is the head of the family. He has the power to make the necessary decisions in the household which could result in hurting one of the wife’s feelings. And being as though many women suffer from insecurity, they usually put up with it in fear of being replaced. This can be a dangerous thing. It causes rebellion amongst the wives, and it usually doesn’t end well. Jealousy can naturally occur in any household, but it’s very common in Polygamy because most women suffer from what I call the “Number Complex.” This means one wife may think she’s better than, or entitled to more, because she was first. In my past relationships, we didn’t do numbers. There is no 1st wife, 2nd, or 3rd. We were just his wives!

These pros and cons can be experienced in any relationship, Mono or Poly. So again, why would you rather put up with constant cheating, rather than embracing a bond?

A few misconceptions of Polygamy that need to be buried away are the idea of orgies and threesomes. It all depends on the dynamic of your relationship. Even though a lot of Polygamous relationships are in the same household, there are a greater amount of families who live in separate households. There’s also a lot of women who aren’t physical with the other wives, and there are some cases where they are. It all depends on what you agreed on. And then what really makes me upset is how people bring up diseases as if they don’t exist in Monogamous relationships as well. If anything, diseases are more common in Monogamy only because people are sneaking around and cheating without a care in the world nowadays. I can’t speak on anybody else’s relationship; however, I can say anytime I have considered being in a polygamous relationship, we have all brought paperwork of our status in the beginning dating stages. We check mental and physical health before anything transpires. And it’s not just me that does this. Many Polygamist people I know do the same; it’s only right!

As I mentioned in the first article, I’m not putting this information out there to change anybody’s mind. I just want to kill all the ignorance that comes with Polygamous relationships. Like they say on Good Times, “What might be right for you, may not be right for some”

So, the next time somebody expresses that they’re Polyamorous or Polygamous, or even a woman who practices polyandry, don’t scrunch your nose up like your relationship is any better. You could be in a Polygamous relationship and not even know it to be honest. So let’s not dwell on what goes on in the privacy of other people’s homes. Learn to love, share the knowledge, and mind your damn business! LOL.

But seriously, we’re nobody to judge! We all have our own lives to live. I just hope this helped the close-minded as well as the ignorant. I too was one of those women who was completely against Polygamy, and then I tried it for myself, and I enjoyed it.

I hope I’ve touched most, if not all the areas of confusion regarding this subject. If anybody ever has any questions or concerns, or is in a Poly-lationship that they may need advice on it, please feel free to contact me anytime at Toriimes@gmail.com I am available 24/7

Peace, love & light.

Side Chick vs. Sister Wife (Part 1)

Nowadays it’s so discouraging how our generation glorifies the side chick but degrades the sister wife. In what aspect does this make sense? Why is the subject of Polygamy, Polygyny and Polyandry so bad that we can’t have a decent an adult conversation? I see daily that it’s very much needed because the ignorance amongst Poly living is at an all time high! And I am tired of the common misconceptions!

For instance, most people over-sexualize the types of relationships. I don’t know who put in their heads that all poly people do is have orgys every night and spread diseases, but take those thoughts out now! That’s so not the case. Most of the time it’s never about the sex, that’s just a bonus! I’ve been in multiple poly-lationships and i can name more times than one where i didnt wake up to a bed full of people! Let me explain how this works… Because there are so many benefits.

There are a few different kinds of Poly-lationships. The two I’m gonna speak on today are Polgyny and Polyandry. The most talked about and misconstrued types.

Polygyny is the practice in which the man has multiple wives. This is mostly common in the Islamic faith (and from my experience, usually practiced wrong) I’ve seen in many cases where the women were forced into Polygyny because it’s been taught that the man does not have to seek permission from the wife, BUT it is considerate that he at least let her know he’ll be adding on. And what religious woman wants to be disobedient to their God? So they dealt with it. I’ve been in this situation twice, when i was practicing religion.. Except I was the wife coming in, and after that I said never again. First go around, I found out things about my then husband that was very disturbing. And it didn’t help that he wasn’t really seeking a wife. He clearly just wanted to have fun. His main problem was he was very one sided. And he should’ve known better than to have a second wife if he could not be just between the two. And honestly, this is the problem in most polygamous relationships.

Quran (4:129) – “Ye are never able to be fair and just as between women, even if it is your ardent desire”  Underscores that a man is not able to treat multiple wives fairly. He would therefore be unable to acquire more than one wife if this were a requirement – which it is not.

And then there’s Polyandry. The practice where the woman has multiple husbands. Much less common, but definitely practiced worldwide. I actually know a few women who live this lifestyle and yes, all parties are aware of each other. Pimpin’ ain’t easy, right? Haha. Anyway, according to research, It is a rare form of marriage that exists not only among peasant families but also among the elite families. For example, polyandry in the Himalayan mountains is related to the scarcity of land. The marriage of all brothers in a family to the same wife allows family land to remain intact and undivided. If every brother married separately and had children, family land would be split into unsustainable small plots. Now I’m sure you’re reading this like what the heck?! But I’m ways I get it. Would I be into it, nah. But to each is own!

Let’s get into the issues of being a sister wife. The main issues are sharing, jealousy, control and lack of self-esteem. Women are so quick to turn down the idea of having another Queen in their castle, or in their lives period, but will accept a man who cheats over and over. I never understood it. You’d rather deal with the hurt, than embrace the truth for what it is. It is natural for a man to lust after more than one woman. Whether it stay a thought, or becomes an action. A man will be a man and always find something he likes in another woman. One morning I saw a post one day where a sister said, “Queens don’t share their King”. But when you think about it, yes they actually did. All Kings, and prophets from back in the day had what they called, a “concubine.” If you think about it, it’s this western society that made monogamy normal! Me myself, I’m a free spirit. I take things and look at the bigger picture. Polygamy brings many benefits for a person like myself. It brings financial benefits. Emotional benefits. And creates a scene where no woman goes without. Aren’t we supposed to want for our sister’s what we want for ourselves?

Just look at all the men we have left to chose from. Most of the good ones are taken. Then that leaves us with homosexuals and jail birds! Or you have the single straight men who want to stay that way. So why watch another woman suffer and be lonely? What if that’s you? This type of relationship will not only help in producing lives, but also create a new meaning of sisterhood. And thats what’s missing! We need to empower one another, love one another and have each others backs!

Let me just close this by saying that at the end of the day, everything ain’t for everybody! I’m not trying to tell anyone that they’re wrong for choosing to only be in a monogamous relationship. But i am asking that you really research and learn the true meaning and reasoning for this lifestyle. But this article is just touching on the types and break downs of polygamy. Next I’ll get into the good, bad and ugly. I hope you enjoyed this piece, and  stay tuned!

Kevin Hart Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge Reach almost $1 Million in 48 hours

Kevin Hart after seeing the devastating things going on in Houston started a Hurricane Harvey Relief challenge and called out a few more of his friends in the industry.

Although we usually see him laughing and joking with his comedy, he’s serious when it comes to helping people. “To much is given much is required”

He made a donation link and let everyone know where to donate and the results were GREAT and an awesome example of how to use your influence for something positive.

Within 2 days the donation reached to over $800,000,, $900+ thousand as I type this, so almost $1 million to help out the people in Houston!

Salute to brother Kevin Hart for having the heart and mind to do this.

T.I. Calls Out Joel Osteen for Not Initially Opening Church to Hurricane Harvey Victims

Brother T.I.P has been one of the few brothers in the entertainment business that has been vocal when it comes to the black community. He’s attended several marches, spoken out on social media and even included powerful messages in his music videos.

Today on his instagram he called out Joel Osteen who has a mega church in houston. Joel Osteen went viral recently for locked his church doors during the hurricane Harvey flood.

This is why people (like me) don't trust the mega churches. How can someone (especially a so called man of God) make 70+Ms a yr TAX FREE from citizens of a city that's now in distress & in dyer need of food water & shelter NOT OPEN THE DOORS OF GODs HOUSE (supposedly) to help those in need? @joelosteen YOU SIR ARE A FRAUD!!!! Ministers, preachers, pastors, reverends are all supposed to be SERVANTS sent here to do the LORDS work. Not just sitting back in comfort watching as satin has his way!!!! FOH!!! We CANNOT AFFORD to continue to just go & give our money away to people who pose as "Preachers" or their BIG lavish MEGA CHURCHES WITHOUT HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE WHEN WE NEED THEM!!!!! Tithing is selfless acts of kindness & what you do for OTHERS. Stop giving y'all money to these 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡LIKE THEY GON TURN YOUR BREAD OVER TO GOD!!!! Nigga please 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽

This all I'm sayin tho…. #USorELSE #PrayForHouston🙏🏽 But Stay AWAKE too!!!

Not only did the brother call out the Pastor, he put his money where his mouth is and joined Kevin Hart’s Hurricane Harvey challenge putting money up donating to a helping organization.

Of course another thing I love about brother T.I is the fact that he’s one of few as well that’s not afraid to meet with Minister Louis Farrakhan and make it known. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan recently spoke in Atlanta at the family retreat and met with T.I while he was out there.

Minister Louis Farrakhan Teaches On Building Wealth

How would an entire white community feel with an all-black police force policing their community?

I’d like to check the temperature and talk about the type of atmosphere we are living in. Throughout the entire country we see and hear about White cops shooting unarmed Black Men and Women at an terrorizing rate and no we don’t need to look at the data. The data will only show whether this has increased or decreased; however, we know it is happening. The serious question we need to consider is why haven’t we heard about Black cops shooting or killing White Men and Women. We know Black cops are being harrassed, weapons drawn on them, spit on, and disrespected. But why is it that Black cops haven’t pulled the trigger on these individuals? Do Black cops have more restraint and discipline than White cops? Or is it that if Black cops began killing White Men and Women White America would retailate in a manner that Black people aren’t willing? When we analyze Policing in America we can trace the start from Slavery with the Slave catchers, Jim Crow south and now. It is the same spirit just at different times. This is very serious because do we believe if Black cops started pulling the trigger because of “I fear for my life” would White America just March or protest? These are questions that need to be answered without any Intellectual Masturbation. We see many White cops policing neighborhoods they don’t live in and just play catch with our black children and call that community policing. There would never and has never been in the history of America an all Black police force policing an all white community. They allow Police Chiefs who are Black, but that remains under the umbrella of White Supremacy. Have you every wondered with all the jobs White America is open to why would they chose a Police Officer career? A license to Kill and use authority to terrorize? We need answers to these questions my Brothers and Sisters. My build on this topic is as I said before this would not be allowed. There would be immediate action and legislation to overrule this action. So if the that is such why do we allow an all White Police force to Police our communities? You pay their salary’s so speak up and address issues head on, demand change from your legislators and be specific.

I love you family, Peace!
